Ross Hill
Ross’s career in the saddle began early competing at just ten years old in the 128’s at HOY’s he continued building on that foundation all the way through to young rider and senior grand prix classes whilst training at a number of top stables. That early grounding in competition gave him an instinct for quality and talent.
In his twenties, Ross moved to Holland and Belgium, spending six years immersed in the heart of European show jumping. It was there that he sharpened his eye for horses and built the foundations of a career in sales, working alongside some of the best producers and dealers in the business and building that all important little black book of contacts!
That combination, a rider’s eye, a dealer’s instinct, and genuine international connections is what led Ross to found Ross Hill Sport Horse Auctions: bringing the very best of the British horse market to a worldwide stage.
Rachel Burr
Rachel was born into the sport coming from a well-known family of equestrian professionals, with both parents highly respected figures in the horse industry. She was riding almost as soon as she could walk, and that early immersion shaped a career built on a genuine feel for horses.
Rachel has always specialised in the production of young horses, taking them from unbroken right through to Grand Prix level including horses that have gone on to jump at the highest levels internationally, winning European and team medals along the way.
In recent years, Rachel has turned her focus to dressage, currently competing successfully at PSG level and producing a string of young horses for the discipline a pursuit that’s sharpened her knowledge and rounded out her skill set across both sports.
Beyond the arena, Rachel has built and grown several successful businesses, with a strong background in marketing and sales. It’s this combination, a lifetime of horsemanship paired with genuine commercial and marketing expertise, that she brings to Ross Hill Sport Horse Auctions, helping shape and grow the business on the global stage.
